Since replacing five road signs recently, Charleston County staff has received 12 calls from residents complaining that the same signs have been torn down again. Although it is frustrating to employees and expensive to taxpayers to keep replacing the signs, the main concern to county workers is the safety of the public. Fire departments, EMS units and police officers all depend on street signs to respond to emergencies.
