The Voting Accessibility Advisory Committee (VAAC) is established to provide advice and recommendations to Charleston County Board of Voter Registration and Elections (BVRE) staff on matters related to voting accessibility. The committee's role includes identifying barriers to voting, proposing solutions, and enhancing the voting experience for individuals with disabilities in Charleston County.
The purpose of the VAAC is to ensure all Charleston County voters, regardless of disabilities, can fully and equally participate in elections. Specific tasks and goals include:
