Committees

Standing Committees

Council Chairman is a voting member of all Standing Committees.

Administration Policy/Rules Committee
This committee consists of four members of Council. It functions as a review, oversight and advisory body on the rules of Council, appointments by Council, issues involving legislative and governmental liaison and related matters. Committee members are Teddie Pryor - Chair, Henry Darby, Jenny Costa Honeycutt, Herb Sass.

Audit Committee
This committee consists of four members of Council. It functions as a review, oversight and advisory body to consider annual fiscal audit, any supplemental or interim fiscal audits, any operational or fiscal audits by the Internal Auditor and related matters. Committee members are Herb Sass - Chair, Joe Boykin, Henry Darby, Brantley Moody.

Economic Development Committee
This committee consists of four members of Council. It functions as a review, oversight and advisory body on economic development and related matters. Committee members are Larry Kobrovsky - Chair, Brantley Moody, Teddie Pryor, Rob Wehrman.

Environmental Management Committee
This committee consists of four members of Council. It functions as a review, oversight and advisory body on the recycling and disposal of solid waste and related matters. Committee members are Brantley Moody - Chair, Jenny Costa Honeycutt, Teddie Pryor, Rob Wehrman.

Finance Committee
This committee functions as a ways and means committee on matters dealing with the budget, capital improvements, bond issues, County personnel policies, purchases and bids, taxation and related matters. Committee includes all members of County Council and is chaired by Council Chair Rev. Dr. Kylon Jerome Middleton, Sr.

Human Resources Committee
This committee consists for four members of Council. It functions as a review, oversight, and advisory committee on Human Resource policies for Charleston County Government. Committee members are Larry Kobrovsky - Chair, Henry Darby, Herb Sass, Rob Wehrman.

Planning/Public Works Committee
This committee functions as a review, oversight and advisory body on Subdivision Regulations, building and other regulatory codes, the Zoning Ordinance, transportation, public works and related matters. Committee includes all members of County Council and is chaired by Teddie Pryor.

Public Safety Committee
This committee consists of four members of Council. It functions as a review, oversight, and advisory body to consider matters relating to criminal ordinance, public safety, and matters related thereto. Committee members are Teddie Pryor – Chair, Joe Boykin, Henry Darby, Jenny Costa Honeycutt.

Special Committees
