Charleston County Solid Waste & Recycling is now accepting paperboard from Charleston County residents. Paperboard is a packaging container, not to be confused with corrugated cardboard with the distinctive middle waffle layer. It will now be collected curbside along with other paper items to be recycled, and at drop-sites and convenience centers located throughout the county.

Paperboard includes items such as:

 - cereal boxes

 - soda can boxes

 - laundry detergent boxes

 - cracker boxes

 - cake mix boxes

 - tissue boxes

NOTE:  plastic bags and other contaminates should be pulled out of these boxes and they should be flattened before being placed in the recycling bins.
