The Community Development and Revitalization Department provides administrative and financial oversight for U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) programs, American Rescue Plan Act programs, MacArthur Foundation programs, and other grant programs. The department's programs enhance citizens' quality of life while promoting economic growth through the development and revitalization of housing and communities.
Charleston County receives grant funding annually from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to facilitate resources that develop viable communities. Eligible applications must fall within priority goals that can be found in the Five-Year Consolidated Plan. A pre-application workshop and Request for Applications (RFA) are generally released annually. Opportunities are available in the following funding streams for organizations that provide services to Charleston County low-to-moderate income residents.
